Heart Attack Advice for Seniors!
Within the last year or so we have lost several 50-year-old celebrities to heart problems, probably Michael Jackson and certainly Billy Mays. No one, it seems is immune, whatever the age. This is great advice at any age but especially important for senior citizens, grannies and grandpas alike.
There are many symptoms of an heart attack besides pain in the center of the chest and in the left arm. One must also be aware of an intense pain on the chin, as well as nausea and lots of sweating. Women in particular may experience pain in the center of the back. An important thing to remember is that: There may be NO PAIN in the chest during a heart attack.
The majority of people (about 60%) who have a heart attack during their sleep, did not wake up, however, if chest pain occurs it may wake you up from a deep sleep.
If that happens, immediately dissolve two aspirins in your mouth and swallow them with a bit of water.
Immediately afterwards:
– phone a neighbor or a family member who lives very close by
– say “heart attack!”
– state that you have taken 2 aspirins.
– take a seat on a chair or sofa near the front door, and wait for their arrival and…
